Banff

June 23

Brandi, Lisa and I

There is so much to see and do in Banff. We kept moving the whole time. It didn’t get dark till nearly 10 pm which was cool and the sun was up by 6. We drove the Icefields Parkway to Jasper AB. It was 142 miles of beautiful scenery. We listened to Guide Along the whole way. It costs like $14.00 but was so worth it. It tells you where to stop, about the history of the area, who discovered and settled it.

We did the usual stuff like:

Lake Moraine

Driving the Icefields Parkway to Jasper AB

Peyto Lake

Valley Of 5 Lakes

One of my Favorites from the Icefields Parkway was Parker’s Ridge. It was early morning and they had just had a snowstorm a few days before. It was a steady climb from the road. It felt like we were so small and maybe on the moon. The snow had that blue hue to it. It is the same reason the waters are so colorful. Its the ice Flour from the glaciers.

There was so much to see on the Icefields Parkway. We spent one night in Jasper which was a cool little town. Then headed back to Canmore for the last night because it is 5 hours from Jasper to the Airport!
